Murray State University Catering is dedicated to high quality and professional service. Our department is equipped to cater events large or small, on or off campus. Whether planning an elegant dinner for 300 or fresh muffins and juice for a breakfast of 5, nearly every detail can be arranged to meet your specific needs.

A two-week notice is appreciated to ensure appropriate levels of staffing and availability for your chosen menu items. Please contact the Catering Office at 270-809-2746 to place an order or schedule an appointment to arrange menus and service details. Our sales staff will be on hand to assist you Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To book a room in the Curris Center, please contact Debbie Futrell at 270-809-6985. To arrange for tables or chairs to be set up anywhere else on campus, please contact Facilities Management at 270-809-4291.
Final guaranteed guest counts are due 72 hours prior to your event. Guest counts for Monday events are due by 2 p.m. the Thursday before your event. The customer is responsible for and charges are based upon the guaranteed number. If the actual guest count is greater than the guaranteed number, you will be notified and billed for the greater number. Once a contract is written, prices are guaranteed 90 days prior to any event. Otherwise, prices are subject to change without notice.
The time allotted for Catering to clear and clean up will be designated by the customer when booking the event. If staff is prohibited from clearing the event at the designated time, an additional charge will apply. A total of three hours are allotted for events including service staff. Any additional time will be billed at an additional cost.
All menus for buffet or reception services have denoted minimums, so please see the menu for more details. All orders for delivery must meet a minimum of $100, not including the delivery charge Delivery charges are as follows: $35 for on campus, $50 for inside Murray city limits, $100 for outside Murray city limits. Please note that we do not deliver outside Calloway County. Delivery charges will be waived for orders of $250 or more. Events scheduled after normal business hours may be required to meet a minimum amount.
Any unused food products at the conclusion of an event are the property of Murray State University Catering and cannot be removed by guests.
Service staff are available to help serve at your event. The charge is $20 per hour per server. There is a minimum of two servers for four hours.
Catering for on-site events in the Curris Center generally feature china, silver, glassware, linen napkins and tablecloths in addition to service, set-up and clean-up. Off-site locations, including other campus locations, generally include disposable foam plates, cutlery kits, paper napkins and set-up. Additional items and services depend upon your chosen menu, guest count and event. Centerpieces and table decorations are not provided by Murray State University Catering.
To avoid being billed for any costs incurred, 72 hours' notice is required to cancel an event. Examples of incurred costs include but are not limited to the cost of food items and supplies ordered for your event.
All food for Curris Center events will be provided by Murray State Dining Services and Murray State University Catering. As a part of the University, Dining Services helps support the Murray State community. Catering is on location and will have immediate access to accommodate all your catering needs at reasonable and competitive prices. If, however, you would like to request a food waiver to permit food from other sources, please review the Food Waiver Request. If your event falls within one of the four allowable circumstances outlined in the request, please print, complete and return the Food Waiver Form (included with the request document) to Murray State University Catering, located on the first floor of the Curris Center.
